COVID Safety

COVID-19 SAFE GUIDELINES

Brisbane Cycling Festival are operating in accordance with the latest guidelines from Queensland Health, the following measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all participants, volunteers, event crew, spectators and attendees at the event.

The festival has completed the COVID-19 Safe Event Checklist – Impacted Areas, this checklist outlines the safety strategies that will be implemented to manage the risk of COVID-19.

On arrival to the Brisbane Cycling Festival and during the event:
  • All attendees must wear a mask.
  • Check in using the QLD Check In app, there will be QR Codes around the event for you to check in.

Please don’t enter the event if in the previous 14 days have:

  • Returned to Australia from overseas (other than a safe travel zone country).
  • Been in contact with an active COVID-19 case.
  • Been in a declared COVID-19 exposure venue as defined by the Chief Health Officer.
  • Had a fever, cough, sore throat, headache, distorted sense of taste, shortness of breath, chills, vomiting or any cold/flu like symptoms in the last 72 hours before the event.
Patron Code of Conduct

We ask that all guests follow our Patron Code of Conduct for the safety of everyone attending the event.

  • All attendees must wear a mask.
  • Check in using the QLD Check In app, there will be QR Codes around the event for you to check in.
  • Stay home if you are unwell or have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath or loss of taste or smell. If you have any symptoms get tested at Queensland testing and fever clinics – coronavirus (COVID-19).
  • Maintain physical distancing from people outside you core social group. Keep at least 1.5 metres away from others.
  • Avoid physical greetings i.e. handshakes, kisses and hugs.
  • Avoid crowded places, if an area seems congested stay away from that area.
  • Practice good hand hygiene, wash your hands with soap and water available within the bathrooms on site and use hand sanitisers that are available at event sites.
  • Cover coughs or sneezes, stop the spread of germs that can make you and others sick.
  • Follow the instructions of Brisbane Cycling Festival event crew and signage when at the event.
COVID Safe Measures

Brisbane Cycling Festival are operating in accordance with a COVID-19 Safe Event Checklist – Impacted Areas. This checklist outlines the safety strategies that will be implemented to manage the risk of COVID-19 Safety strategies that are based on the following principles:

  • Maintain Occupant Density and Physical Distancing by Queensland Health, including density; ensuring space accommodates 1 person per 2 square metres for outdoor spaces and 1 person per 4 square meters for indoor spaces.
  • Screening.
  • Facilitate Contact Tracing.
  • Regular and Thorough Cleaning.
  • Hand Sanitiser and Hand Washing Facilities.
  • COVID-19 Safe messages may be delivered before, during and after events. Listen out for information and follow the directions.
  • All messaging will be communicated by our website, social media, through commentary and signage on site at locations.

Cancellation
  • Any decision to cancel the event (or parts of) will be made by the Festival Director consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Upon modification or cancellation, the Event organisers will (where required and appropriate):
  • Provide advice of the modification or cancellation on the Brisbane Cycling Festival’s website and;
  • Communicate through other available channels where practicable.
