Did you know that Schools can be involved in the Brisbane Cycling Festival? The Brisbane Cycling Festival and it’s major events encourage school groups to join in the cycling festivities from March 12 - April 5 2020.
From training sessions, to community rides, live music, lawn games and markets, Brisbane Cycling Festival has activities for all ages and skill levels.
School groups of all sizes are welcomed and encouraged to attend all of the Brisbane Cycling Festival events and activities, in particular the Six Day Cycling Brisbane Final and the Tour de Brisbane Free Trek Community Ride.
Students can watch the Six Day Cycling Series (3 - 5 April) where cycling world champions, Olympians, and the best track riders in the world race and compete in an exciting atmosphere filled with lights and music.
Are you looking at different ways to promote a healthy and active lifestyle at your school? Brisbane Cycling Festival has got you covered! The Free Trek Community Ride allows school groups, teachers and parents to get involved in Tour de Brisbane (5 April). With a 9 km ride that begins in Southbank, featuring iconic Brisbane landmarks, students will be able to ride through the city's CBD on fully closed roads. The inclusive community ride allows all of those above the age of 6 to get active in a fun and safe way.
Cycling Brisbane is one of the Brisbane Cycling Festival’s valued partner, hosting several coached sessions throughout the festival period catering for younger children. Sessions like Wheely Fun, Become a Wheel World Wizard, as well as Schools Out BMX Jam are highlighted in the Brisbane Cycling Festival’s Program. All sessions are designed and facilitated to encourage little ones to get off their training wheels, and foster their love for riding a bike.

There are multiple ways that schools can incorporate cycling into their curriculum, including Come & Try Sessions where students visit the Chandler Velodrome and sessions are run with a highly experienced and qualified cycling coach. Or a cycling coach can come to your school and run sessions tailored especially for your students.
